I needed to see it. I watched it recently and was stunned at how dark a movie it was. This may be the first song I sang repeatedly and acted out as five-year-old in the living room, our cat Elvis my audience.

also, gotta say, while one can debate the casting of Robin Williams as Popeye*

*=I think Robin Williams brang a rawness and depth to the part that many others would not have, why the film fails is because of Robert Altman horrific direction
