What song are you listening to right now?

keane - crystal ball
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZI6klvnacE

the words (so sad):

"Who is the man I see
Where I'm supposed to be?
I lost my heart, I buried it too deep
Under the iron sea

Oh, crystal ball, crystal ball
Save us all, tell me life is beautiful
Mirror, mirror on the wall

Lines ever more unclear
I'm not sure I'm even here
The more I look, the more I think that I'm
Starting to disappear

Oh, crystal ball, crystal ball
Save us all, tell me life is beautiful
Mirror, mirror on the wall

Oh, crystal ball, hear my song
I'm fading out, everything I know is wrong
So put me where I belong

I don't know where I am
And I don't really care
I look myself in the eye
There's no one there

I fall upon the earth
I call upon the air
But all I get is the same old vacant stare

Oh, crystal ball, crystal ball
Save us all, tell me life is beautiful
Mirror, mirror on the wall"

Oh, crystal ball, hear my song
I'm fading out, everything I know is wrong
So put me where I belong"

The swedish song contest qualification for the big Eurovision finals are almost over and all entries have performed. In Sweden there is a music style titled "Schlager" which means a song that will become a hit and swedish eurovision entries have developed on from the old schlager days but at times an old style schlager pops up.

Out of this years entries four stand out so far. I posted one earlier here that I believe will be the winner and may even win in Europe. The other three that are special this year taking into consideration that the swedish song contest is very much a big part of gay culture are these ones:

Magnus Carlsson (himself gay and a massive gay icon in Sweden but in this one he sings in swedish but songs in swedish may get english lyrics if they win the contest and qualify fot the european final in May. This is old style schlager.)

Mariette "Don't Stop Believing" (Lesbian who with this powerful ballad impressed many)

This one is so not gay and shows that Sweden has natives that may surprise some. In the far north we do have people that some would label as indians. This man comes from that community and has become a huge favourite. He does not sing in lyrics but use "jojk" which is an expression form among natives.

borgia - theme song
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QYiKpXvJ-ok

this is so good it cant be an original classical piece. it just cant be but i dont know classical very well. ill ask matt, hes a peabody grad so he'll know but it was so good i just had to share it. i love the tension it builds and how it just kinda spills over and downward. like someone walking quickly on tip toe who takes a fall. so so good. about to finish up the third and i think final season and tis been really good. i didnt like much of these types of shows, the tudors or even game of thrones were kinda terrible but the borgias has been surprisingly good and i got rachel to read the prince now that weve watched it. i dont know how its gonna end but of course martin luther is not far away and the plague is only like thirty forty years away which is what i think kills the prince.

Please announce a tour.

paralytic states
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AND5afn3lOo

"she could hear them f***ing through
Those thin hotel walls
She heard babies crying,
She heard laughter, she heard sirens
Red and blue lights flashing
Through those cheap hotel drapes
Blood spilled out on the porcelain
The bath tub's over-flowing

Paralytic states of dependency
All waking life's just a living dream
Agitated states of amazement
Never quite the woman that she wanted to be
Never quite the woman that she wanted to be

Spread out faced down on those
Stained cheap hotel sheets
She spent the last years of her life
Running from the boy she used to be
Cut her face wide open
Shaved the bone down thin
Plumped her lips up exaggerated
A f***ed up kind of feminine

Paralytic states of dependency
All waking life's just a living dream
Agitated states of amazement
Never quite the woman that she wanted to be
Never quite the woman that she wanted to be

Night time at the hotel there was fighting in the hall
Thin chain lock to keep the world out
She held her breath till it was gone
Standing naked in front of that hotel bathroom mirror
In her dysphoria's reflection
She still saw her mother's son

Paralytic states of dependency
All waking life's just a living dream
Agitated states of amazement
Never quite the woman that she wanted to be
Never quite the woman that she wanted to be

By the time the ball dropped it was already over
By the time the ball dropped it was already over
No resolutions for the new year beginning tomorrow"
