What song are you listening to right now?

I found this old documentary film about what I would describe as Sweden's very own version of Manchester band The Fall. The comparison may not be spot on but just as with The Fall and Mark E. Smith you just could not label Bob Hund (Bob the dog) or even explain them. Always considered the best live band in Sweden and always sang their lyrics in Swedish except for their side project called Bergman Rock which never took off or made any lasting impressions.

This band was always in the periphery of my life as I knew about them but never bothered to buy any of their music. This changed dramatically when i met my ex in 2001 who was a massive fan that also did some work for the band and even knew their manager a bit. The singer Thomas Öberg always had a close relationship with his fans and would come out outside any venue and shake hands with the fans waiting to get in. Before their 2006 comeback gig I saw this myself as I was in line outside and he came out to shake hands and the american lad in front of me was perhaps the one being the most impressed with this. Despite singing in swedish their music and their live gigs have attracted fans abroad.

The documentary from 1999 is in 7 parts and can be found here:

I was looking for the latest documentary about the band which I could not find so the good thing was that I found this old one instead. I was also listening to the track "ett fall och en lösning" (a case and a solution) by Bob Hund:

(Whenever I listen to Bob Hund I cannot help to think of the young swedish girl from Stockholm who was a massive fan of the band and who posted a message on the bands website forum just minutes before she met her death in the 2004 tsunami in Thailand.)

When the film was over I happened to zap over to the finnish tv channel and they showed the band PMMP live from a festival in Finland this year. I am weak for finnish women, they are so hard yet easily approachable and almost always good looking as hell.

The Fall "Free Range". Nice to see this recorded from MTV indie show 120 Minutes with Paul King seen presenting the video. Back in the early 90's MTV was actually worth watching and the indie show was late at night and I recorded it on video and always found a new fave band or artist on the show. That era was like the gold rush of indie music.
