please explain file sharing

my internet paranoia makes me reluctant to get into this sort of thing until i understand it.

http://www.megaupload.com
http://www.badongo.com

Upload your file, and the chosen site will act as the server and allow others to download your file/s. Your file is given a web address that is coded so the people who want copies of what you have can access the file. Thats the skinny of it.

thanks. i don't even know my way around my own computer yet. there seems to be several places to store things. in fact many different ways to do everything.
