Even the album Rio?
Even the album Rio?
sorry to say but no
You see, that's why you haven't been registered on the new board!
I actually hate them, but someone very intelligent I know says they're one of the best pop bands ever. I'm a little shocked.

No, they are terrible. I can't understand why some people are trying to give them retrospective credibility. They were a joke in the eighties and they are a joke now.
Sorry, I just feel very strongly about this.

as a pop band they were good- some of their songs were quiet striking. the early albums are ok- rio is the stand out. However later albums Big thing, pop trash & notorious are excellent. But for every good one there has been some awful ones.
if you've got soulseek look for 'my antartica', & 'winter marches on'.
I like them quite a bit, but I can't speak for the albums themselves... I listen to their greatest hits CD pretty often, and I have a handful of album tracks downloaded.
Actually, I do have Astronaut, which I like quite a bit. Pop Trash also, but... meh. It has a handful of good songs on it.

Yes, I really like them , have always been a fan i admit , have all the records and been to concerts, Rio is a classic.
Last december I went to see them and it was one of the greatest concerts I´ve ever attend, Simon Le Bon is the man, amazing style and a great frontman , they do PLEASE their fans, are very receptive and they play 2 hours , not like certain people ...
Now you all can shot me , I don´t care
Yeah, I totally rate them.
There's nowt wrong with pop music.
He turns on the animal it’s that time of day,
To make a little honey in the backstreets of the Wall-A
I much prefer Fred Astaire ... "flying down to Rio, Rio by the sea-o". Duran Duran were artless, pretentious and generally embarrassing. Fred Astaire may have looked like a peanut, had no INCREDIBLE fretless bass playing, but could dance amazingly, keep in tune without electronic intervention, and is remembered with affection long after his death.
The same will not, I fear, be able to be said about Mr Le Bon and his chums.

you must be a japan fan, then. =)
