Zsa Zsa Gabor, what's my life for ?

Guest
Heard an interview yesterday on Dutch radio with Oliver. After they played Coldplay the DJ asked if he liked them. He said, yeah because I like sad music. So, the DJ continued, you like Morrissey as well? No he said without hesitance, not him, because he slags me off in the press. He then continued a story on how he had to find his own food for a tv show and killed a sheep and that eversince Morrissey had it in for him. Good radio for a change!

that Jamie is a bloddy wanker, you know what I mean?! 'Cuz of 'im me kids can't have chips and pizza at school, innit.

I felt Morrissey was wrong on this. I speak as a vegetarian. I think Oliver had the guts to do something like this. It showed people exaclty where and how meat is produced. It tried to make people realise how wrong it is of meat-eaters who buy cheap value meat.

If you eat meat then you should be f***ing able enough to kill the animal your eating.

I agree. At least he was being authentic. Anyone who eats meat should have to watch an animal being slaughtered. Better yet, do it themselves. We hide behind a veil of ignorance and pay immigrants to do this dirty work for us. I don't know that this should have been televised. But I think he was not wrong in killing the sheep himself.

> But why did he have to eat a sheep?

They didn't have to eat a sheep. But, most chefs are meat eaters. And most villagers in Italy are as well.

i quite like Jamie Oliver, his cookbooks are good and it seems like his heart is in the right place. i googled jamie oliver/morrissey and, instead, found a quite random comment in a skate-magazine by some skater who had a quite 'interesting' (ie, silly) theory of what 'last night i dreamt somebody loved me' is about -

nothing special...

Do you feel a similar sense of authenticity when you are eating your freshly boiled alive lobster that you're so fond of?
Lobster is your favorite meal isn't it?
Didn't you say you'd have lobster for your final meal before execution?
That would be one meal I would be happy to serve.

sorry, typo, the song was 'you knew i couldn't last'....

Hey that's great! Cool interview. That guy can be found in solo archives, there is a story about him meeting Morrissey and a picture.
