Well he never used to have so much of a sing-songy sound. Maybe its cos he's happy. I just read somewhere about singing lessons and it makes sense if you listen to early smiths stuff - he sounds very different.

Quite early on, possibly during the Smiths, if not shortly after I remember an interview in the NME with a singing coach talking about the singers who had been her clients. Moz had been one. Strangely enough, so had Sid Vicious.
He had some singing lessons before or at the very start of the Smiths being formed. His singing is very fresh on ROTT but sometimes he does push the limits a bit much and loses it a bit on some of the words on a couple of tracks on ROTT. But i'd rather have Moz pushing boundaries vocally than just labouring along.

And with not one even remotely original lyric on this album, it seems that he's just raping and remaking all the old stuff for an audience with lazier ears. Terrible.
That's my favorite Morrissey voice too. But variety is good.
