Not a convention as such, but the 2nd quartely Morrissey night of the year will be held at the Star and Garter, Fairfield St, Manchester on the 21st May. Its always a wonderful night and if you can make it its well worth it.

The previous week Offbeat, a club held at Sheffiled University, ahss its annual Morrissey special. Not a complete moz night but around 15 moz trakcs will be played, amongst a playlist that included Belle and Sebastian, Pavement, Hefner, The Fall and other such stuff. Again well worth a visit.

If anyone needs any further details then email me and ill point you in the right direction.

Do you know if the Citrus Club in Edinburgh still does Smiths Nights?

They were organised by Paul Laird an Edinburgh moz fan. I spoke to him recently and he said he problem was getting a venue on a reasonable night. I dunno if he plans to have any more. They certainly arent imminent.

I've never heard of Mr Laird.

In the dim and distant past, they used to have them every six months or so. I miss twirling around and embarrassing all my friends. Actually that's not true. I still manage to do both even without the help of Moz.

I know it seems a bit dramatic, but there is a Scottish contingent ( well, 3 of us ) going to the Manchester one. its well worth the trip if you fancy it.

The other 2 arent moz soloists - one is called John Hunt - former editor of Frankly Charming, the other i only know as John, and he isa Madonna fan as well ( which may be a good or a bad thing). Alison from Weston Super MAre is also attending.

Anyway - we arnet too scary a bunch, apart from our dancing- and everyone who goes to the Moz nights seem to be reasonably friendly. Well, apart from that break dancing skinhead bloke.
