What do you think of Coldplay?
M: Coldplay don't grab me, but nothing has recently. If I ever get stuck in an elevator long after security have gone home, and Coldplay are on repeat function for the next 11 hours, I shall be delighted. Unless the CD gets stuck

This just illustrates the point about him not even having to try to cause controversy. He (apparently) says something blindingly obvious and it becomes news. Wasn't it about 5 years ago he referred to them as "Oldplay"? Call this news? I'd rather they spoke of his views on Blair & Bush.

That's from that made up interview. Poor Morrissey.

Default I believe you are correct, Danny.

This Coldplay quote is from the ROTT1972 site that contained an poorly constructed cut-and-paste interview and generic album review of ROTT, all which is highly suspected of being a hoax.

Morrissey may not really like Coldplay, but that's besides the point. This interview is putting words in his mouth that he has never said. This may have been someone's idea of a joke but actually, this may end up hurting Morrissey.

    Poor Moz indeed.

Default hahaha look at the mentally ill people inventing an even more complex conspirac y theory

I doubt very much that LBC would be running this story unless they'd checked it with someone form the record company. Hahahah, the toads will now eat their words or have to invent even more complex conspiracy theories

Hope this makes the BBC or NME

Oh come on, how much more of this Bush and Blair CRAP can we stand? Enough is enough, we get it, he doesn't like them. We don't need to read it every single interview. It's overkill now. Move on to something else.

Default you're ill aren't you? Morrissey is probably laughing his arse off right now

He puts an interview online for his internet fans, extending the olive brach of friendship to them and you claim it's made up!

That's probably the best Morrissey interview I've read for a while. The people with brians can all see it's increasingly looking like it's authentic!

    Default true

thing is moz won't drop it - look at how often he railed against Mrs T in the 80s.

Have you noticed how the psychotic one or two trolls are now trying to save face by claiming the people hearing this radio broadcast are all the same person with a variety of IPs all over the LBC radio catchment area? It's really quite amusing!

That's so typical of Morrissey isn't it? "Coldplay don't grab me but nothing has recently" - an unnoticed carry on moment probably went over the heads of the americans.

Morrissey has already spoken about Coldplay in Word Magazine in 2003:

...'In the driveway he asked a favour. He wanted to modify a few of the things he said. "Please don't have me say anything unpleasant about Coldplay and Radiohead," he said. "There's no point to it, it just looks silly and mean. They're perfectly good bands, they're just not to my taste." 'You called them Oldplay and Radiodead'. "I know. But I say a lot of things I don't mean." 'And that was something I'd never heard from Morrissey before'.
