Default okc is not a thrilling place

well, as you have noted GWM, the gay area of town is around NW 23rd street. several gay bars, none of which i have been to since high school (1989, urgh). oklahoma city is not the most exciting place in the world. try this site: http://www.gayokc.com/
the bombing memorial is nice...and if you're into zoos, there's a big one.
i wouldn't make any plans for staying extra time if i were you...
don't know anything about tulsa, sorry. the only time i've been before was to see morrissey there in 1997, and didn't bother staying the night.

    Default p.s.

you'd be wise to just stay somewhere downtown and close to the venue. hopping in a cab to the gay bars, if you choose to do that, shouldn't set you back much at all. downtown oklahoma city (particularly bricktown, where the venue is) has a lot of restaurants/bars/etc, but unfortunately i can't tell you much about them...

The tulsa venue is located in the warehouse district with a few restaraunts and bars around. I wouldnt come to oklahoma early to check out the culture, maybe visit st.louis on your way down.

    some hotels downtown
    Doubletree Tulsa Downtown - (918) 587-8000
    Crown Plaza Hotel - (877) 898-1721 100 East 2nd Street walking distance

those 2 might be on the expensive side. out closer to the airport might be cheaper for most people.
