Is it true that Morrissey refuses to sign Smiths related material ?

at a particular in-store in Houston in '92, he stated that anyone wearing a Smiths shirt (or with Smiths items) would not be able to see him... needless to say approx. one-fourth of the crowd were forced to style inside-out Smiths shirts...
i think it was just a phase... i'm sure he's signed tons of Smiths stuff since then. if he can play Smiths songs live, i don't see why he wouldn't sign a record.
i certainly plan on having him sign my Hand In Glove 7"! -c

Only if it doesn't have a $20 bill attached to it.

I witnessed that someone in Washington DC (Feb.00) gave some really rare Smiths collector's item to one of the crew just before the show started. The guy took it to Morrissey's dressing room and came back three minutes later with the signature on it.

When I saw Moz at the LA instore in 92', they said before we went in, he would not sign any Smiths stuff, so I had him sign my "Everyday is Like Sunday" 12". But I was wearing a Smiths shirt, and he was still extra nice to me. I heard that some people snuck in some Smiths stuff that he did sign. I also know that he does sign Smiths stuff now, but he will still refuse the dopes that want him to sign the Rogan book. It's really up to his "Managers" I think, as to what they want him to sign.

really? what makes you think that?
i think it's a personal thing: what an artist decides is fit/unfit to sign. i'm sure the labels prefer the artist to only sign the latest release, though...

p.s. moz has no manager anyway!

i was at another in-store in '94 (i still have yet to meet him BTW) where someone did bring the Rogan book for Moz to sign. any idiot would know not to do that, but the interesting part was that when the fan presented the book to Morrissey, and after a puzzled look from The Man, he opened it to reveal that all of the pages inside were burned out, leaving only a small inscription: "I would fall defending your name".
A tad camp, some might say... but a nice idea, i thought! -c

He still has PR managers and the like right now. That is why a certain website(Not this one) had to shut down for using Smiths?Moz Mp3's without permission. Just because he does not Have a record label(I think?), he still has people that act as management.

Where's your evidence ? Given his pro-fan, anti-industry stance on anything I can think of I find it hard to believe Morrissey would be against MP3s.
