THE online agency that was selling tickets for Morrissey’s Whitehaven gig for £ 197 each has been shut down.
A petition to shut down Getmetickets.net, who advertise themselves as “ the
front row specialists”, was presented following an investigation by the Department of Trade and Industry.

A notice from the official receivers on the website reads: “When my staff attended the company’s premises a number of tickets were recovered. It
appears that the company does not have sufficient tickets to supply all its customers who have ordered and paid for tickets. ”

It goes on to say that all tickets held by the company will be distributed to
customers in the order that customers paid for them.
The statement also says that the receivers are not in a position to make any
exchanges or refunds, or enter into discussion with individual customers about
tickets they have or have not received.
Before the winding up order was delivered, a spokesman for Getmetickets.net
told The Whitehaven News “We have a number of tickets on offer for the
Morrissey show and can meet demand.” Getmetickets, which claimed to be the largest independent ticket agency in the UK
were investigated by the BBC's Watchdog team
last year received a number of complaints that people did not receive tickets they had paid for.
