the ticket system

It puzzles me what has happened to the ticketing system, and why indeed Morrisseys tickets appear to have soId out so quickly.

I recall the days of the firsts tours that he did, and in those days I had neither Credit Card, cheque or access to internet for the likes of Ticketmaster etc, so relied on good old postal orders sent to the venues, and managed a ticket in this way everytime for every venue.

In those days, I also did entire tours, and not just the odd show as I do now.

I don't feel that the appeal of Morrissey has increased that much over these years to create the fiasco of this and previous tours.

In fact its only becuase he is playing in Blackburn that I feel obliged to go and see him, asits my home town.

Touts still existed, fans still existed, and at the box office today their was a mix of both, but the first people in the queue where indeed the touts.

Perhaps if people where happy to go to only one show, rather than feeling the need to see as many as possible, as i once did, more fans would benefit.

I'm glad you got your hometown, I didn't even get that. Everyone should be guaranteed their hometown. I'm sorry now I didn't go down the box office but I was trying for a few local so thought I'd better chance the internet. Oh well, too late now. It really is sickening though.

Lee, I'm totally with you here!!! It's a shame

I can't believe it has come to this. What happened to sleeping outside HMV and Virgin and the first come, first served policy. This is a joke, listings on eBay with seat numbers before they go on general sale. We should all stick together and just swap tickets between us, anyone who tries to profit from another fan is a parasite.

I have spoken to eBay and unless SJM or Santuary make reports to them they can't do anything. Neither of which seem to care but i did try.

Why can't they just put the name from the credit card used on the tickets and say no entry to the show unless you can prove that you're that named person?

> If no one purchased from ebay / touts then they (the touts) wouldn't bother.... unfortunately we live in a world where greed prevails...we are all to greedy...those who have tickets flogging them on ebay for silly money, those who don't moaning it's not fair ( these moans ultimately stem from greed for themselves) It's a dog eat dog world out there folks. And sometimes it stinks.

Never mind, there are still some tickets for the Girls Aloud tour in June available ....ha ha ha

Gone are the days of Wolverhampton and simply wearing a tshirt to get in to a gig!! Ah the glory days

GREAT IDEA that..! But far too logical (or hard work) for the venues I suspect!

What if your buying tickets for friends or partners, or someone with no credit card?

Then go with them.

Re: sounds like a tout trying to blame us and make us feel bad

Wise up people - the single biggest winner from ticket touting
in 2006 by the proverbial country mile is E Bay - in sales commission
listing fees and Paypal. For every £100 paid they will take around £10.
For E Bay to say its powerlesss to act is utter nonsense. As I type this there are 628 Morrissey ticket items on sale - probably about 2000 tickets.
Oasis Nottingham 500 on sale and 793 completed in less than a week

You have to give your friends name over the phone and their name is printed on the ticket. They then have to produce ID at the venue, just like Glastonbury tickets last year.

vulgar

I got F!!!k all - tried ringing venues from 8.45 am - some of the telephone numbers were wrong in the ad - so that was a waste.

This will be the first tour I have missed if I cannot get tickets. Anyone got any ideas how I can get tickets without having to buy from a tout.

P1111sed off.
