Rammstein Sued By Cannibal

Rammstein could be facing legal action from an imprisoned cannibal over allegations they used his crime to inspire a hit song, according to Contactmusic.com.

Armin Meiwes was sentenced to eight-and-a-half years in prison for eating a man he met over the internet, and is now furious his life story has been used in Rammstein song "Mein Teil" ("My Piece").

Widely sold in both Germany and the US, the track reportedly referred to the Meiwes case, which re-opens on Thursday (January 12) with the prosecution pushing for an extension of Miewes' sentence to life imprisonment.

The man-eater escaped the maximum penalty in an earlier trial because his victim consented to be killed.

Where to start? 8 1/2 years for eating someone? That seems slightly liberal. Maybe by the time he gets out society will be more accepting of his actions? I hope he doesn't work in a restaurant.

Next, I don't see how he can sue for being the subject of this song. It was in the news. Unless he helped write it I think he is out of luck. In the U.S. prisoners/criminals can't profit from their crimes anyway. (Unless they work with Haliburton)

Finally, you're wondering why I posted this, but it was either that or the story about Pat Robertson losing his $50,000,000 deal with Israel to build what has been described alternately as a Christian Heritage Center and a "Biblical theme park".

Hmmmmm, a Biblical theme park. That should bring about the apocalypse.

Robertson seeks to salvage Jesusland plan

JERUSALEM, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- Pat Robertson's comment about ailing Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon may have put a question mark on the U.S. televangelist's Jesusland project in Israel.

Robertson's comment seemed to suggest Sharon's stroke was in divine retribution for carving up the Holy Land by withdrawing from Gaza. The comment could affect Robertson's proposed $50 million biblical theme park in Galilee, reports The Times of London.

Robertson has released a statement that he was merely pointing out the Old Testament perspective on the division of Israel, The Times reported.

His project, planned in an area of undeveloped rolling hills, has also been criticized by some as commercialism, says the report.

A spokesman for Israel's tourism minister, said: "We can't accept this kind of statement. We will not do business with him." But he left the project's door open by saying the statements should be disowned.

Robertson is leading a consortium of evangelicals who have pledged to raise $50 million to build the Christian Heritage Center with land being donated by Israel.
