The American sense of humour really is an acquired taste.
Friends was funny, Frasier was funny, but this nonsensical cartoon crap is just zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I prefer the real lunatics of comedy.

Tony Hancock, Spike Milligan, John Cleese etc

Thinking about it now, even "Friends" and blah de blah is so staged with canned laughter it insults the intelligence.

Leave comedy to the comedians.

Leave the English meaning of comedy, to those that understood in the first place that the word "colour" was spelt with "U" stuck anywhere we chose to stick it.

Peter Sellers is an absolute comedy acting legend. One of the things America must take credit for is Woody Allens comedy films before Anne Hall, he definately borrowed from early British slap and stick comedy.

I never thought Eric Sykes was very funny at all until i saw the south bank show last week and they showed some good clips from some of his films and his tv show.

I saw that Eric Sykes show as well, I never realised he had written for so many.

The poor man is now in his late eighties and has lost most of his sight.

Those clips from the Eric Sykes show brought back many memories, Hattie Jacques as his sister and Derek Guyler as the policeman.

I do agree, Wooddy Allen has nicked every decent English comedians take on life from the year dot.

Then again, what else do we expect?

We made the language, we made the comedy, where do they go from there?

Downwards?
