"Mi and L'au met in Paris a few years back. Mi is Finnish and was working as a model to make ends meet and L'au (who's French) was working in the music industry (soundtracks, I think). They fell deeply and immediately in love, and after a short period of moving from apartment to apartment in Paris, they gave everything up and decided to move to the woods in Finland, so they could be alone together in peace and to spend their time discovering each other and their music. They live in a small cabin in complete isolation with the barest of essentials and they spend virtually all their time making music together in solitude."

"I must admit that Lycia definitely take home the award in the depressing music department. However, contrary to popular belief, depression can be, at times, a very beautiful thing. It's the passing from one emotion to the next that makes darkness so alluring and frightening at the same time. With Lycia, there are moments in the music that are very black, creating a pervading sense of despair. The music is so cold and unforgiving, I can actually imagine myself in the heart of a Nordic forest. Mike's aggressive guitar loops clash with industrial ambience, providing a doomed atmosphere. Tara's angelic vocals glide over the industrial landscape, offering only a glimpse of light to a darkened heart--a light soon to be concealed by shades of doom and angst. The blood in a person's body will soon freeze over, the sky will blacken, the trees will lower their branches in sorrow...

"Yes, this music is quite beautiful, in a disturbing way, so I don't recommend it for a person with clinical depression. However, thematic music such as this evokes a certain atmosphere within one's soul, and opens up a new understanding of different emotions and moods. You can't be afraid to explore a myriad of emotions--fear is your worst enemy when it comes to discovering your inner being. The music is quite dark, but luckily, doesn't enter into 'apocalyptic territory'. [This isn't Lustmord!] Don't
expect your spirits to be soaring after you listen to it, but you might feel inspired to write a few elegies!"
