Good luck to freedom-loving Canadians in their imminent election struggle. It will be tough to overcome a Canadian media that remains shamelessly in the tank for the socialists despite the Liberal Party being exposed as crooks right up to the highest levels, and despite that crooked party demonstrating they have learned nothing from their sponsorship scandal by spending the last few weeks trying to buy people off.

But I am an eternal optimist, and am looking forward to the day when every leader who has disgraced the Free World with degenerate anti-Americanism has finally fallen, like Schroeder already has and Chirac surely will.

Interestingly enough, some think an American blog called Captain's Quarters was a significant influence in the fall of the government. There was a publication ban on information about the Gomery inquiry, but Canadians were able to find out what was happening on the Internet.

Very Interesting. I'm American, but this whole thing is rather shocking. This is the kind of shit you would expect from the Chavez regime. Trust me, I'm no red baiter, or even a Bush supporter, but the inherent hypocrisy that some "progressives" engage is quite disturbing.

I regard Bush as a lesser evil with a social conservativism that's hard to stomach, not my idea of what a great president would be. But when you look at the alternatives these days, it's frightening on the most serious issues of national security.

I'm especially troubled by how many powerful Democrats in the Senate have now made this appalling revelation about themselves: BOTH when they SUPPORT wars and when they OPPOSE wars they do so not for any principled reasons focused on national security and the advancement of freedom, but rather for the cynical purpose of trying to gain political advantage for themselves. That's my reading of certain Democrats who voted for the war when they thought they needed to in order to help themselves politically, and are railing against the war when they think they need to in order to help themselves politically. Unfit for command.

I should add that there are some Democrats in the Senate who opposed war on principle (Feingold) and who supported war on principle (Leiberman). Just wanted to stress I was only referring to some.

You should grab this week's Economist magazine. Very good coverage of Canada and their dysfunctional political system. I learned a lot, anyway. Love that magazine....

Well, the good thing about America's politic system is that when one party is in control too long, the other is bound to enjoy the pendulum swinging back their way. We have two main parties that are on pretty equal footing and it goes back and forth between them. In Canada, they have had too long of a period of single party rule at the national level which inevitably leads to the kind of corruption that occurred. Peculiar conditions in Canada are such that the other leading parties are locked in a state where they can only be major parties in certain provinces and not across the entire country.

It saddens me really, to be so abruptly faced to acknowledge how ridiculous you people sound. I expect more from Moz fans. But as this thread shows, no matter what the color of someone’s fandom or apparent open mindedness, the brainwashing and propaganda in the USA has reached such astronomical levels that you guys are starting to sound like war mongering Nazis. 1. none of you have any idea about politics, political systems, never mind issues facing Canadians or Quebecers.

2. Bush should be murdered for his campaign of mass murder throughout the world, and for what he has done to the American people-ruined them for a generation. 3. What is wrong with Chavez? a democratically elected figure who replaced a virtual American dictatorship. He represents the people. Oh how shameful.

4. The American political system does one thing and one thing only, tailor to the interest of large companies. Before you say how messed up Canada is because we have parliamentary system look at the rest of the world. In the USA the office of the president has taken virtual power over entire country, proposes law, runs congress, etc. He does even have to justify himself or his party to the opposition everyday like in parliamentary system. Ban corporate donations to parties, as they do in Canada, maybe you will get somewhere.
