That describes this site pretty well, doesn't it. What a shame to be felt that way by the one we gather to support and respect.

That's great. It's about time he started defending himself properly with the facts instead of making bitchy comments about Joyce in interviews.

This comes across so much better. To refute him people have to deal with the facts.

Morrissey makes possbily the longest written statement he's ever made, even refering to this site in part of it--and yet David doesn't make it a main page story?

Sadam HuTseng, O Strong and Fearless Leader--what the fuck? Do your imaginary pissing matches with Morrissey's assistants' assistants' assistants determine what stories you will and will not post? Solo plummets to new levels of uselessness...

I think it’s great that he's communicating with his fans, and now we no all the facts. I have to say I was pretty disappointed to learn that the money I've paid for Smiths albums over the past year have gone directly to Joyce.

Why should David T. But I'm sure he will post it, maybe he's busy, like with work?
By Morrissey not sending the statement to David T(when it addresses discussions from this and the main board) its a slap in the face to David T and to the 95% of the people on this board who think Mike Joyce is shady.

You can't really blame him. Joyce didn't even plead poverty but there were quite a few posts on the main message board talking about what a bastard Morrissey was because Joyce had to sell records because he was poor.

I've read the posts about Mike Joyce being a nice guy on this site so my point being why didn't he send the statement to David T to set the record straight.

First of all, I would say the overwhelming sentiment on this site is that Mike Joyce is not really owed the money he's trying to get. Yes, A FEW people have said that he seemed personable when they've met him, but does that really have anything to do with what he's owed as the Smiths' drummer? I really don't think most people on here are "support[ing]" Mike Joyce. And even if they were, why does Morrissey, who obviously has hatred for this site, even care what people write on here??

Second, the stories David Tseng posts on this site may not always be favorable to Morrissey. And do you know why?? Because he reports practically ANY ITEM (major, minor, favorable, unfavorable, confirmed fact, and yes, even rumors--and rumors are explicitly stated as such when posted) that might have to do with Morrissey. And guess what? Not everything on Earth written about Morrissey is going to be favorable. In that respect, David is IMPARTIAL. Do you really think he says, "oh, this poll from such and such magazine shows Morrissey is the best lyricist ever to have lived, but I hate Morrissey so I better not post it on my site. I only want to post things that portray Morrissey in a negative fashion." Come on people, THINK for a change.

I've never even met David Tseng. But I'll tell you one thing. Remember back in 1999 and 2000 when Morrissey had NO record contract, NO new material in years, and yet was embarking on a world tour? Well, where do you think you could find information about on-sale dates and read reviews and set lists and get information about line ups, etc? On the radio? On TV? In the newspapers? On True-to-you.net? Actually, no. The best, most reliable information came from MORRISSEY-SOLO.COM. And it is still the best place to get ALL the information related to Morrissey. Morrissey has chosen to align himself with true-to-you.net because he knows that nothing negative will ever be written about him there.

All of you who hate Morrissey-solo should go to True to You's message board instead. Oh wait--there isn't one, you say? Oh right, Julia wouldn't want to anger Morrissey by letting anyone type anything bad about him, seeing as he's the most altruistic, loving human being ever born!

Moderators on the main page actually do exist; I've been one for months. I try to remain impartial and do not score posts slagging Morrissey higher. That would be ridiculous.

Because this is now the only way he has of getting Morrissey's attention.

Look at that ridiculous story about Morrissey not appearing in the Dean documentary. An e-mail from someone who says they got an e-mail from someone (presumably someone INCREDIBLY low-level) at the BBC? And right onto the main page it goes. Idiotic.

As usual, Moz refers to Joyce as 'Joyce', yet refers to Rourke as 'Andy Rourke', maybe showing some sort of respect for Andy... after reading the facts it seems he would have no reason to dislike Andy as he went nowhere near the lengths Joyce has gone to in order to recieve money.

I don't see it makes any difference where the news comes from. As you said Davidt reports on everything here and it's primary value is as a discussion forum for all the fans.

True to you performs a different service. It give Morrissey his voice on the internet. It does that with no one getting in between Morrissey and the fans and putting across their own point of view as to what Morrissey thinks or feels. It is up to us to form our own conclusions from his statements.

Both sites are just as valuable as each other.

Morrissey made the statement in order to counteract a sympathy-and-cash-gathering campaign that Mike Joyce is waging THANKS to sites like this one, and which would be to the detriment of Morrissey's reputation if it built up further steam. That is the only reason Morrissey condescended to insult Solo in his statement.

Don't let it go to yours (or Tseng's) head.
