I have setup an action website to 'Stop Will Young' from recording 'Heaven knows I'm miserable now', there is a petition on there that I would love you all to sign, I shall be sending it to Young's record company and manager at the end of the month, in enough time for him to re-consider any decisions he has made about what he is going to be putting out as his bid for UK Christmas No.1.
Thanks guys, you know its for a worthy cause, we don't want that TaTu incident to happen all over again now, do we?

Let him do it if he wants! Who's to say that Colin Meloy can cover The Smiths but Will Young can't. He likes the song & wants to pay homage to it, i couldn't care less if he made a video for it & was swishing Gladioli about whilst stroking his bequiffed hairdo.

Nah, Mr Young was as unaware of Morrissey's music a month ago as he was to who David Bowie was last year (in an interview asking if he was took inspiration from the singer, Mr Young went silent before Bush-esquely declaring "I believe I'm unfamiliar with his work"). It's nothing to do with paying hommage to The Smiths, trust me.
Don't get me wrong, Smiths covers aren't necessarily a bad thing. The Tatu cover was catchy and I've heard a LOT worse (the techno-goth reworking of 'There Is A Light...' , anyone? If you haven't heard it you're not missing much) but I think the power and meaning behind the lyrics will be lost if and when they stumble out of Mr Young's oversized mouth.
Yeah i read the interview where he said he didn't know who Morrissey was, but i think it's quite nice that Morrissey's lyrics are still hooking people in even after this much time.
I was just bored & waiting 'till i could get the train to Caerdydd to see Franz. Though i still stand by my opinion that Will dressed as Morrissey would be funny, & something i'd like to see.
Although I applaud your intentions this will only bring Will Young further attention
its the ol cliche:
"no such thing as bad publicity"
Or like Oscar says
"the only thing worse than being talked aboutt is not being talked about at all"

whilst in the great scheme of things i don't really mind. I know that through my sister, i'll get to hear reports of the scallies at her school who think Will Young has surpassed himself with his great wit and lyricism and i'll be forced to tattoo (or should that be TaTu) a message on my sister's forehead proclaiming:
Will Young - Stealer of songs.
Plus i'm sure it'll irritate me intensely, should i hear it being slaughtered ... in fact, i'm imagining it right now and it sounds awful.
i wish teeny bopper pop twats would stop ruining my favourite songs.
Be a fan of Moz if you want Will, but can't you just rope in the person who wrote 'Leave Right Now' to write something else for you? That was a good pop ballad.
Or at least cover 'What Difference Does It Make' ... i gather Moz never liked that one.
