The school has since been demolished.
It started off as a Technical/Grammar school and these photos were taken just after the school had been built in 1967!!
A classic 1960s style school building. An all boys Roman Catholic state Grammar/Technical school it later reached FULL Grammar school status!! only a few years later though in the 1970s it became a comprehensive!! when Secondary Moderns were abolished!! it became St. John Plessington comprehensive!!
Later still St. Pauls RC school used it's building and then the school was left rotting and was demolished!!
I know a lot about St. Pauls for different reasons and Andy Rourke knows why because I told him.
these are the photos: http://www.images.manchester.gov.uk/ResultsListphp
this may NOT work so try: http://www.images.manchester.gov.uk and put in the 'search box': 'St Augustines Wythenshawe'.
Wythenshawe is a very deprived area but it is cool!!!! Sharston Mount between Stancliffe Road and Altrincham Road.
I know some people with the sirname Stancliffe nothing to do with the road though.
