how can i convert mov. files to avi????

i need to convert smiths VERSAILLES which is in mov. file...to convert to avi!!!! is there any program to do it???

There are programs to do this. Here is the first one that came up on google and it is $30. http://www.winmpg.com/mov-converter.html

There are others. I am curious why you want to. I had a file in avi recently and it took a long time to find the codecs to view it. Another thing is that when you convert from one format to another you sometimes lose some quality. Make a copy before you convert so you will still have your original.
