The Chatroom Hacker

If ever you see chatroom posts disappear without the entire last 999 posts being wiped; or if ever you see your own ISP address, or other personal information, suddenly posted in the chatroom for all to see—-then it is almost definitely the work of Mr. Alan Angerbauer.

You should immediately report what you have seen to David Tseng at david@morrissey-solo.com, to Mr. Angerbauer's supervisor at [personal info removed]. (I assume our hacker sometimes invades our privacy from his workplace), and perhaps even to Mr. Angerbauer's local law enforcement.

Mr. Angerbauer uses a large variety of names in the chatroom; but a good sign that he is there could be that his girlfriend, whose registered chatroom name is "bee charmer," may also be there. And Mr. Angerbauer has taught her at least one of his tricks. Yesterday morning "bee charmer" erased a long portion of the chat which apparently didn't meet her liking. If anyone doubts this, they should simply e-mail david@morrissey-solo.com, asking that the chat transcript be reviewed.

David Tseng should take an immediate and serious interest in this, or else he should CLOSE THE CHATROOM.

This is not a joke. I encourage you all to be as careful as possible.

yup, click on "mon ami" and you'll see the name "jehne" who he seduced on the internet while she was grieving for her dead brother.
He then got her to dump her young son on her elderly mother while the two of them rutted like beasts. I kid you not, she had his penis in her mouth within an hour of meeting him in the flesh, so to speak.
I'm told that she kissed her son on the mouth shortly after.

i bore witness to a recent incidence in which the hacker in question posted somebody's ISP address and name without their permission. while i am of the probably controversial opinion that information that is publicly available (names, photos, addresses, etc) is pretty much fair game for the trolls, i believe that information that can only be obtained through hacking or other dubious means should remain private.

unfortunately for this hooligan, my brother-in-law works at the phoenix field office of the FBI. while this matter is far too frivolous to be brought to his attention (i doubt it would even fall under his jurisdiction anyway), if it happens again and all of the evidence is compiled (as the person posting as "a" has already begun) and easy enough for me to pass along, i will consider asking him for a favor. morrissey-solo is a great site and david invests a lot of his personal time and money to make it available for free, and it upsets me that someone would insult his efforts (and thereby jeopardize the site's very existence) by hacking the site.

if anyone witnesses any of the activity described in the original post, please report it as suggested, but also post another thread on the boards so that we can all stay informed and do what we need to do. thanks.

You people are absurd. I got Josh's IP address by checking the access log of my Web site. If Josh didn't want his IP address known, he should have been using protection before he accessed the picture bait left there.

Logging access attempts to Web sites is how you *find* hackers: it's not the sign that a person *is* a hacker. You don't even need to be a "helpdesk monkey" to figure that one out.

As for deleting posts, that's an erroneous conception. There is a flaw in the chat room programming that allows persons to *hide* (NOT DELETE) posts from the chatroom. I reported the bug to David T. the same day I discovered it. If he hasn't chosen to patch the bug, then he must have his reasons.

On the other hand, she has for ages now been excitedly asking anyone who seemed computer savy: “Are you a programmer?” So perhaps your union should surprise no one.

Since dismissing our complaints as "childish games," Alan Angerbauer has continued to wreck the chatroom on at least a twice-daily basis. The result is that many people have simply stopped coming into the chat. Congratulations, Alan and Jennifer.

Much more seriously: our hackers demonstrated today that they can read reds--private messages sent from one person in the chatroom to another.

Is it at all unreasonable to assume that anyone engaging in this behavior has criminal intent? Angerbauer has said that he is not, after all, interested in "games"; and he has admitted that photographs on his Smiths fansite were there as "bait," allowing him to collect people's ISP addresses.

DAVID TSENG CONTINUES TO IGNORE THIS ISSUE. IT IS UP TO US TO SEE THAT ALAN PAYS A PRICE.

If you have seen any of the behavior described in this thread, post to the thread saying so. Otherwise, those of us who are standing up to Alan (alainsane) and Jennifer (bee charmer/realitybites/bertie/Ms. Russell) can more easily be dismissed. Angerbauer's identity has not been posted as part of any petty squabble. No, he was outted more than two weeks after he began manipulating the chatroom, and violating people's trust and privacy, from a position of anonymity.

Report him. Report him to David Tseng at david@morrissey-solo.com, and report him to his supervisor, [personal info removed].

The administrators of NAU will not be pleased to know that a man with Alan Angerbauer's dishonesty, malice, and behavioral problems has access to the private information of every student and employee under the NAU umbrella.

Meanwhile, I suggest that those people who are avoiding the chatroom are showing very good judgment. Until David Tseng assures us that the security hole Angerbauer is exploiting has been patched, it is best to stay out.
