"Arab Strap's sixth studio album, "The Last Romance," will be released in October by Chemikal Underground Records. It has 10 tracks and is 36 minutes long, and will be preceded by a 7" single. More details will be posted soon..."

I'm afraid the days of seminal works like Philophobia are long gone..the last two LPs have been utterly dreadful..

I was mostly underwhelmed by Elliot's "Drinking Songs" and especially disgusted by the concluding 20 min. piece of drum'n'bass inanity, like that which, piecemeal, marred his prior album.

In future, I intend a more indulgent listen.

Malcolm Middleton -- AS's compositional moiety -- released his second solo effort recently. Decent, though spotty.

woke up again today

BUT! have you ever listenedn to ballboy? same scottishy type of band. very very beautiful music. they've even taken over from morrissey as the music i can constantly listen to

From the few songs that I have heard, they seemed a little too, well, "exuberant" for my liking. But, I will be sure to give them another chance. Thanks.
