I've just done 4 times the 8 mins 44 secs of it.
Is this a record?
Still sounds BRILLIANT after 30 years.
I love the album 'Physical Graffiti'.
Page could give Marr a run for his money.
What?

Page is one of my threee favorite guitarists: Page, Marr, and Townsend. Ah they are all British. It must be the anglophile in me.
Wouldn't you love to do some shrooms, lie down on a very soft comforter, on a cool and breezy, yet sunny day, in a green grassy field, with poppies everywhere -- and listen to Led Zeppelin tunes all day?!

Your forgot Eric Clapton. He's British too, mind.

Only as a "Daytripper", nothing permanent.
I don't constantly listen to Led Zep, you must understand, but you reminded me of them earlier. I am now going through the whole Physical Graffiti Album and just heard the wondrous "Ten Years Gone". If you don't have that album Bertie, you really must make the effort.
"Ten Years Gone"
Then as it was, then again it will be
An' though the course may change sometimes
Rivers always reach the sea
Blind stars of fortune, each have several rays
On the wings of maybe, down in birds of prey
Kind of makes me feel sometimes, didn't have to grow
But as the eagle leaves the nest, it's got so far to go
Changes fill my time, baby, that's alright with me
In the midst I think of you, and how it used to be
Did you ever really need somebody, And really need 'em bad
Did you ever really want somebody, The best love you ever had
Do you ever remember me, baby, did it feel so good
'Cause it was just the first time, And you knew you would
Through the eyes an' I sparkle, Senses growing keen
Taste your love along the way, See your feathers preen
Kind of makes makes me feel sometimes, Didn't have to grow
We are eagles of one nest, The nest is in our soul
Vixen in my dreams, with great surprise to me
Never thought I'd see your face the way it used to be
Oh darlin', oh darlin'
I'm never gonna leave you. I never gonna leave
Holdin' on, ten years gone
Ten years gone, holdin' on, ten years gone

Clapton is brilliant as well. I agree a daytripper, only.

Me neither. It is just too intense. But, it is a Zeppelin Sunday for me.
> "Ten Years Gone"
Brilliant song!!!
Plant's voice is sooooooo sexy! Remember those hip huggers with his obliques glaring out at ya? Pwoooaaaar!
Did you know Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones were uncredited studio musicians for several recordings by the Manchester band Herman's Hermits, who recorded a Graham Gouldman song called "East West" that Morrissey covered for his "Ouija Board, Ouija Board" single? See how it all fits together!

Wow, I did not know that. Thanks for sharing that.

Yes, and it was the Herman's Hermits song "I'm Henry the VIII" from which the Ramones stole the line "2nd verse same as the first" for their song "Judy Is A Punk," which years later wound up on Morrissey's "Under the Infuence" compilation.
Unfortunately I don't know which Herman's Hermits songs Page actually played on.
I was able to find a lot of info linking Page and Jones, but nothing regarding which songs they recorded.
when darkness folds
across this old sky
yes i´ll open up
for you that night
but still shadows they come
am i safe in your arms?
can i be your source
of love tonight?
i´ll wait for the day
when you creep through the window and hold me
smash into my life now and hole me
don´t set me free
i´ve waited too long, yes i´m dying
smash into me someone and hold me
speed into this shell now and hold me
hold me, hold me
can you tell me
will i ever dream again?
in your arms
i now know that i´m home again
i´m home again
i´m home again
i´m home again
i´m drunk for your love
speed into my life
and speak to me now
oh just speak to me someone
for i know your taste
and i can supply ...
