Must American women promise to obey their husbands like UK women at marriage?

In UK as part of wedding vows women must promise to obey their husbandly owners or the law refuses to allow them the privilige of Marriage!

Is their a similar law in the United States and if not why not?

All female Morrissey fans would surely obey his voice so why not all the more so their husbands?

A sensible reply is eagerly awaited!

As far as I know....

We had the traditional vows at our wedding (in Ireland). Still, it doesn't mean she'll do a thing I f***in' say. And in all fairness, fair dues to her.
