New Band

Hey guys! I just wanted to tell you about a new band, Supergrass. Their single is entitled, 'Pumping On Your Stereo'. Good band, but not so new. "I Should Coco" was released in 1995. Great album. Saw them in a tiny bar in Houston promoting the first album. This year they are opening for Pearl Jam in Houston. I like Supergrass, but not enough to buy a Pearl Jam ticket.

Some good NEW UK bands: Coldplay, Doves (older band, new sound), The Animal House (ex-Ride, new sound), and My Vitriol.

Oh yeah, and PLACEBO has a new single out and new album soon.

and supergrass's cover of some girls are bigger is really good...its been around for quite some time....
how soon's placebo releasing their album, do u know?

The new Placeo single is called "Taste In Men" and the new album is due in October. I hear the new single every now and then on BBC Radio One online. I don't know when the single will be released. It's good though. I've also seen the video on some website. Brian cut his hair. Looks good. I know, I know, who cares about that, but it's news anyway.

Also, look for the new Richard Ashcroft out in a few weeks. The first singles sound good. A little poppier and upbeat than the Verve, but nice.

and don't forget the absolutely fantastic JJ72!!!! ...also Echoboy, and Snowpatrol.
Do you *really* like the voice of the 'My Vitriol' singer?

yeah i read the nme reviews about ashcroft's latest stuff...they were good but then again nme can be so misleading.... thanks for the placebo info btw...

The My Vitriol songs I've heard are pretty good. Very guitar oriented, so the focus may not be on the vocals per se, but out of all the new bands I've heard I like the Doves and Coldplay the best. 'Yellow' by Coldplay is a great song. I haven't heard JJ72, what are they like?

They are Joy Division for the Britney Spears generation.

Look for 'Long way south' on napster.
