Their Set lists are great, Smith sobered up and they're leaving with a bullet. Sorry Moz, but Maybe Someday!

    I'll miss them terribly

I went to the Cure show last night and was terribly bored through most of it. I was a complete Cure fanatic when I was younger, but I must say that a lot of the Cure's music has NOT aged well. Granted, I wasn't very familiar with the new stuff, but the basic formula is tired and old. There is no need for a 3 hour concert.... give me a break. I don't think I'd even want to see Morrissey play for three hours (not that he ever would, of course) Give me a nice 90 minute concert and I'm happy. Robert Smith looks like a complete mess. He is about 60 pounds overweight. Is the big hair and makeup really necessary still?? He's 41 or 42 for cryin out loud. "Fascination Street," "Boy's Don't Cry, "Killing An Arab," "A Strange Day," "100 Years," "The Kiss," and "Play For Today" were perhaps the only bright spots in an otherwise dull, uninteresting, 35 song snooze fest. Morrissey has the right idea: short and OH SO SWEET.

Has Moz changed his formula? If so when and where?
The cure have gone through several phases, pop, goth, dance, rock..

That's a @#!!!ing joke! He's not modeling for GQ, he using his music as a catharsis. I hate it when people throw that into the Smith vs. Moz debate. Big deal...

Is the big hair and makeup really necessary still??

I don't know, Moz's hair has been known to stand on end from time to time. His makeup adds that whole sad clown dimension to me.

He's 41 or 42 for cryin out loud.
    He was born in 1959..
What's your point, it's there last tour, last album?
Did Moz get younger this year?

I doubt seriously that they played 35 songs. Most of their set lists check in at about 20. You must of been one of those fans yelling sit down, sit down...

i don't mind the cure, I quite like a lot of their stuff, but IMHO, the last thing they produced that was decent and to a standard I think they, certainly were, capable of was disintigration. I know I can be a bit kinda mean now and then but I have my serious and fair hat on for now and I suppose I am just saying I would personnally (completely and unashamedly subjective of me I know) have prefered to see the cure go out with a bang rather than a whimper.

I think Robert is looking a bit rough - and I say this in a concerned way rather than a critical way! No honestly I really do! It's nice to see your once heroes ageing gracefully, constructive critisism He could look much better if he made the best of himself, but at the end of the day it's his choice...After all do you really wanna see him hurtling towards an embarrasing death like Elvis?!

Also his vehement attack on Morrissey seems so spite filled and vapid.

If Smith sobered up, please make him go back to booze, pills, narcotics, and Twinkies because they have released nothing but @#!!!e since "Disintigration."

Wish was brillant. Psychedelic pop at it's finest. Their new release is strictly for Cure fans. They didn't release any singles, nor videos to promote it. They spent two full years deciding what to include. If you're a fan of the cure Bloodflowers won't disappoint you. However, i concure with you that Disintegration is one of their finest. Do you think Maladjusted is Moz's finest release?

They have, the press, the fans and music, everything's getting wrapped up in a perfect bloodred ribbon.

Robert has made a point of saying that he used to treat his body like @#!!!. He drank before every European concert up until this tour. He has admitted to using cocaine, LSD, etc. I do see the parallels and they are not unfounded. But the integrity and beauty of Smiths' lyrics reflect his destructive side. His is not in denial or repressing that part of himself with his music. As and artist I respect this about Smith.

    > Also his vehement attack on Morrissey seems so spite filled and
    > vapid.

Morrissey and Smith are both guilty of that.

29 songs. I just reviewed the set list up on their fan site. I sincerely apologize for my exageration. And no, I was not yelling for people to sit down. In fact, the only time I actually sat down was during the dreadful "Jupiter Crash" Smith appeared to have about a 12 pack of suds in him as he could barely talk (as usual) and forgot the words to even the most run-of-the-mill songs(ie: Lovesong)

I went to The Cure show last night, and it was fabulous! It was my first and probably last. Morrissey is great too, but I haven't found anything to be too inspiring since he broke up with The Smiths. Also, I find him to be quite pretentious. The Cure and Depeche Mode are far better!

Anyways, why do you give a @#!!! about the way Robert looks? He's 40 years old and he's not supposed to be a model or something, he's just a musician! Give him a break, people only make fun of his weight because he's famous and is then compared to other waif-like famous people. In the real world, he'd just be a little chubby, not obese or anything! His worth shouldn't be based on his looks, it should be based on his music (and yes, it has been good since Disintegration. What about open, from the edge of the deep green sea, end, want, where the birds always sing, and 39?)Is that why you all love MOZ? Because he's a skinny bastard?

They've been adding pop songs to their set list and I think they are ready for this tour to end. I guess 29 songs are a lot to remember
I appreiciate your review. I believe there is going to be a video
from several of their performances combined, let's hope they chose some sober ones.
