A while ago, while downloading MP3's on Napster, I came across a song titled "Matchmaker", allegedly by Morrissey. It is only 30 seconds of the song. The music reminds me of Steven Street/Vini Reily era Morrissey, and the voice at times it seems to have to be Morrissey, yet at times just sounds similar, kind of like the guy from Monaco, who sometimes sounds like Bernard Sumner, but then obviously not at other times. If you havent come across this one and are a Napster user, just search for it over and over again, disconnecting, and re-connecting each time. Im always-on, so you'll eventally find it. Its driving me nuts.

The similarity is there thats for certain, but I am sure it is not him. Then again....who knows.....

my take on the song clip...

i think the guy kinda sounds like the lead singer of 'james'. and the music is very 'james' like too. but i would probably say it is morrissey.... or at least 95% sure!

The song is from the really fab band The Trash Can Sinatras, and it is called 'Only tongue can tell'

Love & glitter,

It*s definately NEITHER Morrissey nor Tim Booth. Don*t know who it is then, though....

"I'd need to take leave of my senses to get a moment's rest
Following in footsteps footsure in fancy dress
Head in my hand I'm making plans
Hoovering up for the day
And if a matchmaker calls hand in hand
With a catch of the day, I'll rise to the bait
But it'll still be more than a heart can take
More than feeling great
More than tongue can tell"

The Trash Can Sinatras are a fabulous band indeed.

Glitter_grrl!!!!! Thanks so much. Sort of dissapointing though. The 30 second clip cuts off at critical point that makes it obvious that its not Morrissey. The full version of the song is really good. Thanks again.Bob.
