"I am throwing in the towel" Morrissey announced, the words every Smiths and Moz Solo fan knew would have to come one day but had always somehow managed to avoid thinking about.

"I am throwing in the towel", he said through clenched cheeks, "i don't care if it says non colorfast cotton - wash dark items seperatley" he strained, "i am not going to start the automatic washing machine until I have a full load" he groaned.

Morrissey probabaly laughed when it was pointed out that "throwing in the towel" is a euphimism for retiring. "I,m not that old yet" snorted the singer(58) from his hollywood house.

"Nancy, where are those Florida property brochures I lent you" or perhaps "you have 60 seconds to leave my property" was his final comment - it was hard to tell as the washing machine had entered its spin cycle.
