One of my informants tells me that on p95 of Record Collector magazine editor Jack Kane advises collector Stuart Thomson that his 7" 'white label' (actually pea green label) copy of Reel Around the Fountain/Jeane could fetch £1,000 at auction.

- and to think I made an ash-tray out of mine, as was the fashion in 1986!

I wonder if Jack Kane is the character I knew as John Kane in 1989? Anyone know anything about him?

he regularly features on BBC6 "Mint" (the show is on every sunday 10pm).. there is a section in the programme where Marc Riley / Rob Hughes both go record shopping for five pounds in charity shops and see who can make more profit.. they phone up Jack Kane to get value .. bla bla..

Thank h. Sounds rather entertaining for a Sunday night. Getting a bit fed up with David Jacobs on Radio 2 -0 he NEVER plays any Morrissey records!
