All the songs you mention are like 10 years old. So I was right in assuming they only released shit after Morning Glory?
So they had 2 great records, The Smiths had 4!

I beg your pardon, d'you have the courage to say it again? What's that story about better lyrics? Noel doesn't know how to write lyrics -his own admission, if you want to know the truth. Better voice? Cigs and Alcohol have fucked Liam's voice, if he's ever had a good one. They're not a proper band, they're a couple of brothers who had to escape boredome (poor guys, bear in mind they're from Manchester). I like them a lot but you just can't compare them to The Smiths and Morrissey.

oasis were the band that first made me realise that the spice girls and bands like them are not music. bear in mind i am only 17. I went to see oasis at knebworth and did fall in love with the songs like i have done now with morrisseys. after a long period of liking oasis i decided to delve into the bands that noel repeatedly mentioned in interviews as major influences. So this search obviously began with the beatles. Tomorrow never knows, rain, strawberry fields, a day in the life, sexy sadie, dear prudence, revolution #9 etc are all wonderful songs and for a good two years i didn't listen to anything but revolver, sgt. peppers and the white album. BUT THEN ------- THE SMITHS. The best of to start me off then eveyrthing else. I am now more of a moz solo fan than smiths. I'll stop now because i know you didn't ask for my life sotry. The point i',m trying to make is that both OASIS and the Smiths are very very very good. However I must say that the Smiths are much better musically, melodicly, and lyricaly. I much prefer listening to Strangeways than whats the story. But thats not to say oasis are shite. Even stuff after morning glory is good. Gas panic and born on a different cloud are both excellent songs that do show progression from the brit pop oasis. I'm sorry for rambling. I'm currently supposed to be doing me coursework and the more time i spend writing this the less time i have to spend being bored. so i thought i'd bore whoever reads this instead. hope you enjoyed urselfs as muchas i did.....oh god i wish i hadn't drank that bottle of jd when i woke up

Oasis are a great live band, I'm going to watch them this year at the Blue Camp & I'd love Moz to be playing too, I bet the Healers will be playing so I assume Moz won't venture over to the Eastlands actually.

If not then I would like to point out some of Mr.Gallaghers more insightful lyrics....

"Maybe, I dont really wanna know how your garden grows coz I just wanna fly" (Gardening and the wright brothers in one line! top that moz!)
You had no need to post...this evidence alone is striking enough. Clearly Morrissey also learned everything he knows from the Gallaghers.

Well of course that's where Moz learned his stuff.
But -- you must know this, already, Mr Smith -- his original teacher was the Great KC of "KC and the Sunshine Band" with his insightful lyric "That's the way (uh-huh, uh-huh) I like it (uh-huh, uh-huh)." Where would Moz be without THAT inspiration? I rest my case.
