I was getting mixed up with the velvet underground....it is late, or early, depending on how you look at it.

Named after a Bowie song, which i used to like, still do in fact, called, funnily enough Velvet Goldmine. was a B-side though I can't remember what of. I have a 7" single with Space Oddity on one side & Changes/Velvet Goldmine on the other, but it was a reissue as part of an RCA anniversary or something blah blah blah oops, getting carried away now....used to be very into Bowie.

Yeah I was into Bowie too..
Changes is probably my fave of his ever..
Apart from all of Ziggy of course!
Lost him round the China Girl garbage though.
Although he rekindled the interest with Young Americans which was very good, methought.

Young Americans was pretty good but was around 74/75 i think, while China Girl was from the Let's Dance album much later, & was a piece of shit, as you suggest.
Bowie's last great album was Low in 77.

I don't think he's done anything since, probably Young Americans, that I've found interesting.
I, probably like yourself, was more into his early years...
Ziggy Stardust, Alladin Sane (Don't know now if that's how the spelling went)
but you know what I mean..Drive in Saturday etc..had a big zigzag on his forehead and orange hair...would probably now be construed as some racist symbol

Yeah, Aladdin Sane was a great record, Bowie was fantastic in the early 70's.

He was, then he lost the plot.
He played the part of coach Joe in Bend it like Beckham, yesterday on BBC. And I recall him being the lead in a very dark series on BBC2 a few years ago.
