Finally, do you accept it's a womans choice and some may wabt to use their sexuality for paid purposes?

There are more female than male prostitutes, so i'll comment directly on that. I find many women are unable or unwilling to accept that a other women who are prostitutes may be one out of her own free will and sexual expression as well as financial motives.

I know of people working closely with prostitutes (volunteers), both in- and out-doors, and they are amazed to find a lot of them have chosen to do it. A lot of them. So had needed to reevaluate their prejudices.

Do you really think prostitution is about "sexual expression" for the workers?

They may have "chosen" it but I'm pretty sure if they had been offered better "choices" at some point throughout their lives they might have chosen differently.

After all, you don't get many rich women choosing to express themselves sexually by becoming prostitutes.

you fall into the trap in regards to what i was saying.

a prostitute can earn well over £50k per year and i'm sure many women have worked for 5-10 years. So infact they are rich, but still choose to continue and no, not all prostitutes are drug addicts and yes, some can earn £100's per hour.

you seem unwilling to accept prostitution and the fact it can be a raitonal choice for woman.

For exmaple on the tv recently i saw a non drug taking, non pimped, doctor as in PHD educated woman, early 30's, no debts, money in the bank, very nice house who still worked as a prostitute in london. It was her choice and how she wanted to express her sexuality and earn a living.

It should be decriminalized and the stigma should be removed. If women (or men) want to earn a living selling their sexuality, they should be able to do so.

I don't think you are being fair. His opinion is not invalid just because it doesn't match yours. He makes a good point.

I wasn't just referring to his post on this thread, even though it's just more of his usual ill-conceived drivel.

I don't know what he has said in the past. However, I do agree with his statement that prostitution should be legal. Anyone who has been to a strip club or viewed pornography, has paid for someone else to sell his or her sexuality. I don't see how those two things are deemed perfectly acceptable but 'touching' is illegal. On what grounds should prostitution be a crime and pornography not?
