Morrissey on 'Frank Skinner Show', UK tv

As rumoured round these parts a few weeks ago, Morrissey is scheduled to perform live on 'The Frank Skinner Show', itv1, Thursday 9th December, 22:00~22:30. Other guests listed are Mr.Tony Bennett and Jodie Marsh.
Let us all pray that Moz is just there to sing and doesn't allow himself to be 'interviewed' by Mr.Skinner; that would make the J.Ross chat look like Malcom Muggeridge...

I simply cannot see Morrissey ever agreeing to do this programme. I very much suspect that if he has been scheduled to do it by 'his people', then the minute he sits down and looks at the format of the show, he will cancel.

From memory, guests are always interviewed. Frank Skinners caustic and hit/miss style of comedy just does not fit the bill for Morrissey.

Don't get me wrong Skinner can be a very very funny bloke, just not that often on this particular show.

Tickets for The Frank Skinner show are available by going to www.tvrecordings.com, and clicking on "Shows". You have to register first, but it's a small hardship. All assuming, of course, that Moz is going on the show.

Sk.

Tickets here...

Frankie's okay with his musical guests. You only get on there if he likes you.

I like Frank. He was spotted at a Morrissey gig I'm told.

And I actually think Morrissey being interviewed on this show could be very funny. OK, so he's rude and waspish......... but so is Skinner! They both LOVE the innuendo (oo-er). Can't see why folks are all so worried.

Morrissey has appeared on a few shitty programmes over the years. I can see him liking Frank just because every will assume he doesn't!

I'd say he'll do it. He wants 4 top ten hits in one year. He'll be plugging the single. I'd say he'll be quite nervous though like he was with Ross. I remember Michael Stipe on the Skinner show last year and he was a nervous wreck.

I'm not worried. I simply cannot see it working, thats all.

It would be interesting though!

Come on people.

Frank Skinner is a twat. Official.

For Moz to even entertain being seen in the same room as that annoying turd cannot be true. The man is an untalented sexist bigot.

What is going on? First YATQ coming out every other month in a new format, and now this. My unalloyed respect for the Mozza is starting to get severely strained.

What next? 'You're the one for me, fatty' used for the new McDonalds advert?

Hardly ever would I refuse to want to see Morrissey on TV. The more often the better. I like this show and I like Frank Skinner. On this show, a lot of it is pretty much set-up scripted, plus Skinner is very fast. He will piss take. He has used Morrissey in jokes before. What else can you expect? Do I want Morrissey to do it? Yes, but I want him to respond in similar fashion. He is just as quick and funny. The Scotsman newspaper recently said when describing the sharpness and quickness of comedian Jimmy Carr that he was like some distant, inbred aristocratic cousin of Morrissey. Maybe he'll have a pop at Skinner for trying to sing.

Once I went to a show in Edinburgh at the festival that less than 10 people went to. Frank Skinner was one of them. He was beside me in the queue and we chatted about various things including that I had wanted to see his show but it was already sold out. The next day I got a couple of tickets from a tout and at that show he mercilessly took the piss out of me, using all the information gather from our casual friendly chat the day before.

His friend David Badiell was at the Royal Albert Hall. So was Frank. Maybe that's when Morrissey became a priest?? See link.

Blah, blah...I'm gassing.

When Morrissey became a priest??

The strange handle NM

Think David has changed some things on the site and if I want to post under Morrissey the 23rd. I will need to feed him some cookies. We shall see. I will probably use this name until Ian registers it. I know it's not funny. It's more sad.

Your opinion?

Every other month?

Now I think you're just being silly.

Frank was lovely to Rufus Wainwright. He can't be that much of a bigot.

He has Shane MacGowan on tonight.Worth watching

Skinner appeals to the lowest common denominator, where humour is concerned.
However, sexual innuendo is one of his strong points, I have to agree.

Let's just hope he doesn't sink that low.
4 albums with the same title is enough for anyone!

What have I started here?

Whilst (as previously stated) I would be surprised if Morrissey appeared on this particular show, I would not subscribe to two point being offered by other soloists. Morrissey would hardly be selling out by going on, neither would he be shifting substantial quantities of singles as a result of appearing. It is after all, a late night chat show. Hardly Parkinson!
