Pretty Girls make Graves

I'm taking an English class right now on the Beat writers and we're reading Keruoac's 'The Dharma Bums' right now. And the narrator says to himself at one point in the book, "Pretty girls make graves."

Did Moz get the title/song from the book or did Kerouac rip that line from somewhere else? Because I seem to remember reading somewhere that Moz didn't like Kerouac's writing.

Yes he did in fact get the title "pretty girls make graves" from
Kerouac..and i dont know about morrissey's stance on his
writing, but i know thats where he got the title from..i am
very positive about this..

How do you know it for a fact? Pretty Girls Make Graves is an old phrase that was thrown around long before Kerouac chose to use it.

I read it somewhere or other, that sounds a bit casual, but
i read it on some site..or in a book, i dont remember, but i
remember very vividly hearing that before, of course there is
a slight chance i may be wrong, but i dont think so..
