Sanctuary Records has signed Lou Reed to a long term recording deal. He will begin working on his Sanctuary debut in 2005. "I am beyond delighted to be in a situation where I am surrounded by people who love music," commented Reed.

As a tribute to British BBC deejay John Peel, Snow Patrol has posted a cover of his favorite song, "Teenage Kicks" by The Undertones, on their Web site. The track was recorded at last year's SXSW festival in Austin. In a message on snowpatrol.net, the band writes, "We greatly admired him, his maverick radio shows... He was responsible for saving Radio 1 from chart hell, he will be sorely missed. This track is free to download and is given as a gift from us in memory of John."
