I'll pass on this one if it's OK with you. I've to be up early tomorrow.

No problem, but when it comes down to it...that is basically what happened, right?
The Jews/Isralies paid Arabs for the land they have. It was not given to them.
The Jews did not displace anyone, because very few of the people who were there actually owned the land. Most were absentee owners residing elsewhere. Another fact hardly mentioned by the "new historians" is that the arriving Jews never threw anyone off any land. All land was purchased legally from the original owners... whether they be from "Palestine" itself or elsewhere. Furthermore, top dollar was paid for this land which, in many cases, was uninhabited and hardly more than swamp land and rocky terrain. Only about 120,000 Arabs resided in an area that now comprises the State of Israel, Jordan and the so-called "West Bank" [Judea and Samaria] in between. By 1890, the number of Jews who had settled in Palestine reached 50,000 and, by 1907, numbered 100,000. In Jerusalem alone the Jews numbered more than 25,000, out of a total population in the city of only 40,000 Jews, Christians and Arabs. The Arabs did, however, constitute a majority over the sparsely populated countryside abutting Jerusalem.
WHO ARE THE PALESTINIANS?

Well I'll stick with the "new historians" theory, they are obvously more up to date.
We shall beg to differ on this one.
They "paid" for the land? Oh please!

The Arabs did constitute a majority, simply because it was their land, and it still is!

If they didn't legally own the land and weren't majority in terms of population - how exactly was it "their" land?
Funny how inconsistant you lefties are.
And sad how you're trying to provoke a racist thread.
Anyway, I see that Yaser Arafat is ill, and with the best interests in my heart for both the jews and the palestinians I say that I hope he doesn't recover.
Instead of negotiation being allowed to reach a peaceful resolution, he chose to blow up children in pizza parlors.
Funny how the lefties don't even read the book by their hero, Slick Willie.

Quite so. This was after Jewish extremists conducted a number of very nasty Terrorist attacks against the British who were trying to run the place.
What does this tell us? Well in this instance, the Terrorists got their way - has it helped? No, Israel remains a militaristic society, well armed (much more so than any of its neighbours) and of course surrounded by neighbours who would like them to have the gains gotten through terrorism removed.
In the meantime, the UN has tried to curb Israel's military expansion and to bring about a brokered peace in the area.
The US for the last 30 years at least, has ignored this UN approach and continued to support Israel monetarily and militarily. The result of this has of course been to prolong the situation in the region and led to much Anti-American sentiment as evidenced by 11/9.
Since you like the hostilities and presumably were pleased as punch on 11/9, what's your point?
