Default Johnny Marr / Neil Finn in Peel tribute tonight

Tonight in Liverpool, Neil & Tim Finn played at the Liverpool Empire.
For the first encore, Johnny Marr came on and they played 'There is a light that never goes out'.
Then, Neil was saying how sorry he was to hear of John Peel's untimely death - especially as they were playing in his hometown.
Someone in the crowd shouted 'Play Teenage Kicks' (refering to the seminal Undertones classic song).
Johnny Marr picked up his guitar and not only played, but sang the song too.
The trio then finished with a version of 'Ferry across the Mersey'.

My friend attended the gig and rang me straight afterwards.

How dare you, Boris the bufoon will never be forgiven.

Jon Pell however, is one of our own and we always, always acknowlege our own.
You don't understand, you are either an ignorant cockney or an ignorant american in both cases, I will make an excuse for your ignorance.
You really dont't know what empathy means, unless you are northern.

My spelling is away with the mixer...but here we go...
You cannot compare Boris with Ken Bigley, nor John Peel.
To equate Boris's case with either of the others is crazy.
What is meant by, Boris, now all is forgiven?

I presume by that you mean, we are only allowed one headline in our "Liverpool Echo". i.e, we forget Boris's insult to our proud city, due to the fact John or Ken has died. How jealous and obnoxious you are.. We are a very senisitive city and are quite able to cope with more than one crises at a time.

We do not wallow in grief, never have and never shall.
We do however, possess something other cities seem to lack, and that is comradeship.
I am proud of being a scouser, because I'll tell you what, we never forget our own.....
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
    And you'll never walk alone
    You'll never walk alone!

Stick that in your pipe, you southern no mark.

Some people think The Wirral just across the water(the Mersey) from Liverpool is just that much posher than dear old Liverpool town!!!!

God, you are really a cunt aren't you? Poor Jamie Bulger, nothing but a boy, did he deserve his fate?? fuck, Ken, I don't even want to discuss him R.I.P. what a way to go, you live your life, laugh and love and cry and live, and then your head is sawed off like a plank of wood. R.I.P. John Peel...without you, oh so much gratitude. What an unfeeling prick you must be.

These posts are an absolute disgrace. Any decent human being would feel it appropriate to use deaths of people to attack a city (and a fine city at that). And to mention Jamie Bulger is very much not on. Seriously.

Goat- I wonder if there is a copy of the show available yet? I would really like it. I've been a Finn fan for years, all the way back to Split Enz, and Neil and Tim put on a great show! I was lucky enough also to see Neil play here in San Diego at the 4th & B, and his guest guitarist was Johnny Marr! I couldn't believe my luck. He sang, "Down On The Corner", then said, "Is anyone depressed yet?" Anyway, if you know if there is a copy of the show your friend attended, I would be very interested in purchasing one! Please email me! Cheers
