I have relatives in Hebden Bridge. They live in a flat about a shop that sells pots and pans.
There is a really nice organic restuarant/bar in Hebden Bridge that I went to - great food.

I know an organic resturant and an organic food shop!!! it's so lovly Hebden Bridge.
(My Grandad left the East of London, went to North London and ended up in South/West London!!)
Whereabouts in East London is your granddad from, Andy? My family are all from the East End originally, but most of us moved out to Essex or the East London suburbs on the East London border. I was born in Whitechapel and two years ago returned to live just down the road from the very hospital.
PS Good to see you back and not posting any more upsetting stuff about Beachy Head.

Hebden Bridge is really nice - we went for a walk up a steep hill to another village and had a couple of pints. Sylvia Plath is buried in this other village so we looked at her grave.
Then we walked along the canal in Hebden Bridge - it is really nice. We wanted to move there!
Chislehurst is very nice too!

if Hemptonstall is where she is buried, yes I am. It was a bit of a walk from Hebden Bridge - quite steep but worth it.
the quality of life up there must be so much higher than 'orrible old London
there was a shell placed on Plath's grave - does that have any signifigance??

People keep putting shells and things on her grave, but Plath fans usually take away something off it. The shells, no signifigance. Frankly, I'd be surprised if her BODY was still there! But, I am glad Ted Hughes is dead.
