In reality he made some remarks about the plight of Mr Bigley before he was cruelly slaughtered.

"The Scotsman made remarks about Bigley's Thai wife and about his situation as a hostage while on stage at the Hammersmith Apollo, London.
During his performance, Connolly reportedly asked the audience: "Aren't you the same as me, don't you wish they would just get on with it?"

During one of his concerts, he said something along the lines of being sick of hearing about Ken Bigley & wished that "they would just get on with it".
He also said something about his wife, implying that she was some kind of 'mail-order' bride, as, apparently, she's much younger than him & from Thailand or the Phillipines or somesuch place.
Basically he said the kind of things that people up & down the country have been saying, or at least thinking, for days, but 'cos he said it on stage, the PC Police decided to lynch him.
He may be a tedious cunt who hob-nobs with the Royals & has his tongue up Prince Charles' arse, but he's entitled to say what he likes, otherwise we all may as well have our tongues ripped out.
At least people have stopped short of demanding his beheading.....
