Has Morrissey ever been arrested?

I found this in a public records search. I'm not sure what kind of offense it's referring to. Section 537 of the CA penal code has to do with leaving a hotel or restaurant without paying, so perhaps that's all this is...

Hew did say he spent a night..or many hours in prison quite recently, but that would be within the last few years...so don'tknwo what this one is.

does the song "At Amber" predate this? if not, maybe we've discovered the basis for this song...

P.S Sorry for those abysmal typing errors, there was no light on in here at the time....sorry! But doesn't anyone else remember an incident not too long ago when he was arrested..for something trivial?

you mean jail. . .prison is where you go for stays of one year or more.

plus i think you are talking about the airport incident in whcih he was being detained at the airport. He never was arrested--thus never in jail (and certainly not in prison).

Sorry that's probably my British ignorance....I thought Prison and Jail were the same thing...never mind ...never mind!

yup, "at amber" was releasd in late 1990 on the "piccadilly palare" single but was around way before that. it almost appeared in early 89 on the "interesting drug" single as it's former incarnation of "bed took fire".

Well I really don't know.
But I have!!!!

well this incident happened about 2 months before the kill uncle tour got underway in ireland. was moz in LA two months prior to the tour starting? maybe promoting tha album in the US? when did those KROQ interviews take place in 91?

Seriously flawed not right in the head. relax. if it is morrissey it's no big deal. I could see morrissey leaving a hotel expecting someone else to pay for it. this was back in 1991 after all. his head was huge then. if he were arrested, doesn't mean he was convicted or anything. this may be fake, this may be real, but i doubt another Steven Patrick Morrissey exists. He probably refused to pay for a meal when he ate half of it and discovered meat in it. besides. . .it could be against Morrissey the company, not the person. meaning a tour related lawsuit. who knows. . .who cares.

haven't we all been arrested before? ok perhaps not taken to criminal court.

Mr Stick...
I entirely agree with you...What does it matter...really...
I'm sure beyond doubt if he left an hotel/restaurant, whatever without paying there is some discrepancy on the part of the hotel...I mean for goodness sake...it wouldn't be because he couldn't afford to pay the bill...My oh My!!
I really don't know why this rubbish was posted in the first place.
(Sorry if I've offended the poster). I disagree with you however, I think it is quite feasible there is more than one Steven (even spelt with a 'v', rather than ph) Morrissey, living in L.A. It's not that an uncommon a name.
If he is of Irish descent, Patrick is fairly common as a middle name.
Anyway I love him anyway so who cares....

R.S.V.P

But don't feel obliged!

Right, could be a different SPM

Or, if he was on tour, maybe someone in his party/working for him inadvertently left an establishment without paying. It could very well be just an oversight -- I wasn't implying anything nasty about Morrissey; I love him!

P.S I Wasn't arrested for anything sinister by the way...
Well maybe it was...I was over the limit on the breathaliser test..(I'm pretty sure I've spelt breathyliser incorrectly but never mind...I think this last spelling is the correct one) What does it matter, in the great scheme of things.
Anyway, I was arrested and you do actually have a criminal record in Britain for Driving Under The Influence....It may be the same in the States.
This occurred approximately three years ago... I was banned for twelve months and had to undergo some drink/driving forum and fined £300.00.
Anyway, all behind me now...but ...nonetheless...it means I am in fact classed as a "Criminal" here in Britain! That will be on my record for another seven years approximately.

Any Comments Mr Stick?

Didn't murder anyone or anything like that...
