Today it was pay review day. The Uber-Lord of the company told me I'd only get 6% rise. I told him to stuff it. He said why? I said "to say the least I'm truly disappointed". After arguments it was raised to 15%. Yay!. I feel very sad for quoting Moz for my family's benefit, but what the hey, it worked!

Chin up all,

Sk.

wow....i would have been very happy with 6%! in america, you get that maybe if you rescue the company owner's baby from a burning building...and that's a big maybe.

Fair dues.. Don't feel sad, feel proud for wringing every last penny out of your boss and doing well for yourself and your family. nothing wrong with a little bit of inspiration every now and then?

Yeah, no kidding!

I work for one of America's top 10 employers....and our budget only allows for 3% annuals. Cheap much! They even treat the $20.00 gift cards we sometimes get as taxable fringe benefits. Now that's sad.

we no longer get christmas gifts. they shrank over the years from videos to calendar posters with the company logo to a card saying that money has been donated to some charity in our names, to a simple email saying "things are bleak..."

I think I've seen that email before.
