PLEASE!!!! Do NOT get a smiths Tattoo. you will regret it and in fact those of us who are tatooed "for real" will laugh at you. No, not just some....all of us. I beg you!! You wont be able to find anyone who can render it properly either. bet on it!!! i am not being mean just a bit of advice

I don't know where you are, but a few weeks ago I saw the most amazing thing. I have facial piercings, and where I go, upstairs is a place called Avalon Tattoo ( San Diego, California ) The first thing I heard, which blew me away, was "Our Frank" playing! I said, "Okay, who's the Mozzer fan?" and this man came up to me and his name was Guy. It's NOT TRUE that one can get horrible tats - because Guy's body was ENTIRELY covered by Smiths/Morrissey tats- I mean, VERY GOOD QUALITY and ARTWORK done on this man. He was about 30, I suppose. From his neck ( A Swallow On My Neck ) to his ankles, he was COMPLETELY covered. I was awestruck! Now, if you have never had or intend to get a tattoo, no need to read on. I have tats myself, 3 of my cat, shaded in on my forearm and others I don't want to explain ( takes too long ) I got them all about 15 years ago. When lasering tats off is cheaper, I WILL get the majority of them lasored off. But Guy's tats were BEAUTIFUL- you would have had to see them to believe it. He must have spent a good chunk of money on them, because they were bright, expertly done ( always get a good artist ) and he had EVERY song listed, EVERY album and EP listed, and the one I remember the most was "Angel Down We Go Together" He had a beautiful woman, with that title around her body, and her face was sad. If I can, I'll ask Guy if he'll let me take a picture of his tats- so I can show them to you. I was awestruck, some of them must have hurt like hell. (the nearer the bone, the more they hurt- think of a very hot sewing machine needle. ) So, I don't know where you are, but EXCELLENT ones can be found right here in San Diego, California. Good luck. I'll see if he'll let me ( which he probably will ) take a snap of him. You'll be amazed. The colors are bright and lettering very artistically done. There MUST be a site for Avalon Tattoos- you should check it out. There is one in Pacific Beach, and one (where Guy was) near to where I live, on Adams Avenue. Try to look them up. They have a tatooist there who's name is Kelly, and she has been featured in all of the tat mags because her work is so detailed and beautiful ( yes, folks, tats CAN be very beautiful ) So, try to look it up. First off where i "am" makes no difference to you. What does is that i know more about tattoos and tattoing than you for various reasons. I for one can tell you that REAL tattoos done by artists who draw and paint (NO NOT FUCKING FLASH ON THE WALL) are beautiful and certainly challenge the notion of what the public thinks tattoos are or should be. I happen to know of Avalon Tatoo. AND DONT YOU EVER FUCKING RECOMMEND THAT SOMEONE GO TO A TATTOOER THAT YOU KNOW KNOTHING ABOUT!! YOU are making a judgement about her work based on your own tattoos which most likely suck becuase you are getting them lasered (which your getting ripped off by some MD). You dont know what a tattoo should look like technically or who the leaders in the industry are right now. I will let you in on a secret. Its NOT F or P and hasn't been for over 15 years. DO you have any idea what is going on in the tattoo community? DID you know that artists who appear in magazines are generally NOT even close to "the best" or most sought after becuase the "great" ones are too afraid to submitt work that will be stolen BY amatures and hacks etc. That tattoo magazines are a joke among the "real" artists in the trade. YOu don't becuase you are unfortunately and uninformed member of the public who thinks that "the guy who did mine" is the best and are looking for a "good deal."
As for the asshole who has all smiths tattoos on his body i would suggest that if you want to really know what they think of him wait until he is gone and ask some questions. I guarantee they will think he is a fucking asshole for placing that type of imagry on his body.

Also you should know that anyone who hangs out at a tattoo shop and doesn't work there is 99/100 times hated by the people there!! It is not the type of image that can survive a lifetime of wear (ie. 30 years etc) There are many reasons for it but most importatnly that art on a Simiths album is SOMEONE ELSE"S ART and shoudl not be duplicated. Especially in the tattoo medium its is frowned upon by serious tattooers. I am talking about REAL tattooers who don't have neon signs or advertise in Tattoo mags or fucking take "walk-in" off the street. IF you search you will find them by looking with your eyes long enough you will see that the quality is far superior to what you have seen thus far. The first time I had one done I had to re-book it a few times becuase the guy was too pissed - ahh those were the days of sitting in amongst a load of extremely dodgy blokes in the upstairs room from some boarded up shop......the upstairs room has also since been boarded up.

Oh LOL, sorry about that- here in California, EVERYONE is sober ( at least whilst they're doing the tattoo ) Plus, if you're pissed - they'll refuse you. I always take a Valium before I go, to relax. Because when that needle hits bone, it hurts like fuck. ( I have some on my back, too - they hurt the worst ) Oh, what tat did you choose?

Nah I don't find that it hurts, it just feels like your skin is tightening, that's the best way I can describe it. Any notion of pain is usually in your head, if you relax it's easy peasy. The very first time I had one, I had a big phobia about needles at the time, but I was young and impressionable and wanted to go along with my peers - I put in quite a performance I passed out twice and threw up and one of my mates had to get me a Mars Bar to get my strength up - great stuff. I realised afterwards that I worked myself up over nothing and went back a few days later for another one. They can be quite addictive, don't think I'll get anymore, 9 is enough I think.

Don't assume, please, that YOU know more about the art of the tattoo than I do. I don't know why you attacked me as you did, probably your mother dropped you on your head, why the hatred? Bitterness? It reminds me of..hectorr...or moby. I only told this guy what I knew- and I've had my tats for 10-15 years or more and there is only ONE I want off.
