Alain Eating His Guitar?

I was watching a boot video of the Vegas House Of Blues show & I noticed something that Alain did during "The Teachers Are Afraid Of The Pupils" (which he did at the show I went to as well)...

He turned his back to the audience during "the break" & part of the intro, I believe & held the guitar high up in the air & appeared to be speaking into the pickups or biting the strings or something... does anyone know what he was doing?

I'm not a musician so these things puzzle me...

He's pretending to play it with his teeth, ala Jimi Hendrix. Usually what a guitarist does when they do this is to hammer the notes with their left hand.

Havent you ever seen someone play guitar(mostly solo parts)with their teeth?Jimmy Hendrix was very good at that as i recall......dont try it at home though.

He's screaming into the pickups. You can get almost any sound passing through them. Pay attention and listen closely. It almost sounds like feed-back, it sounds like a scream with distortion.

I didn't see the video. I saw Stevie Ray V. in a small club and he for sure played with his teeth like Hendrix. So who knows.

please, can we not all be so ridiculous at once?

chico was right, the only reasonable explanation was that he had something to say to the pick-up. i don't think Alain would risk looking like fool to simply pick strings with his teeth, and moreover, slapping the strings in that kind of a position would be detrimental to the condition of his back, would it not?

He's not eating his guitar. He's singing into his pick-ups. You see the pick-ups pick up the vibration from his voice and create that high pitched sound.
