Is the UK Edition of "Love is Hell' different than the US? Because "Anybody Wanna Take Me Home" is on his 'Rock n Roll' album. My favorite on 'Love is Hell' is "I See Monsters", lovely song.

Orininally the Love Is Hell album was released in the UK as two albums Pt.1 and Pt.2 as a side line to Rock N Roll. These 2 'EP's' did not have "Anybody Wanna.." on them, as it was on ROCK N ROLL. However, this year, Love Is Hell was rereleased in the UK as one album, with the addition of "Anybody Wanna....". It's more or less the same as the RNR version but with a longer instrumental intro. Can't wait when Ryan comes back to tour in UK. Saw him in january and he was great.

    Cheers,

    Tom.

    Default Kitchens of Distinction?

Surely you are referring to "Love is Hell" by Kitchens of Distinction, from 1989? I'd vote for "Mainly Mornings" or "Prize".

No way man - "the 3rd time" is surely the best of all - absolute classic

You're probably right. Over-familiarity with the tune has lessened the impact for me. I remember seeing the video on "The Chart Show" back in 1989 and thinking, "wow - must go and buy it". So I did. I like "Strange Free World" a lot as well. "Railwayed" is top class.

"does anybody wanna take me home" is a great song and the album is quite good but Ryan Adams is a complete asshole and nothing but an average overrated songwriter.
As for KITCHENS OF DISTINCTION, they were fabulous, especially their first two albums. "Love is hell" is an amazing record, one of the best from that time. Just listen to "prize" or "the 3rd time we opened the capsule", great!

But you didn't name the artist, you plank. So how was I supposed to know who you were talking about? Isn't Bryan Adams that Canadian rock singer? Hmm, don't fancy yours much. Kitchens of Distinction are much better. I only saw them live once, and they were toptastic.

Thats because I was writing to other Ryan Adams fans and anyone who didn't know what "love is hell" is wouldn't be a fan. And surely if you dont know the songs as kitchens of crap songs then you would know the question isn't directed at you.
    P.s 2 + 2 = 5, coz its clear you struggle..........

No, you are terribly wrong. "Love is Hell" is a Kitchens of Distinction album that predates Bryan Adams by a good decade. When I saw the title of your post I thought, "KoD". I was disappointed not to recognise the song titles in your original email. However, it quickens the heart to find other Kitchens fans coming out of the en suite to profess their admiration for this woefully underrated group. I think next time you post something like this, you should make it clear and unequivocal in your message title who you're talking about, then we'd all feel much better. Now let's have a nice cup of tea and part on good terms.
