thick... damn good question... "glamorous glue" is one of Mozzer's most mysterious songs. for the longest time, i thought he was singing "first day with the JOY you find".
as for the first few verses, i'm not sure. but the song's ending starts to clarify itself for me. "i used to dream & vow... i wouldn't dream of it now... we look to los angeles... london is dead." then my favorite lines: "i know... i'll go empty hand... from the land." it seems that songs like "glamorous glue" were the beginning of morrissey's departure from england both physically & emotionally.
another bit i like is the whispered lines "everything... of worth on earth... is there to share." this line kind of goes with the "jar you find" bit. he's talking about greed of some sort... but i'm not sure how it relates to the rest of the song.
