Suffer little children

Page 41 of the July edition of the Economist has a section of recent quotes from people involved in the US election trail. They have given a title to each one, and one of the titles is "Suffer the little children" (the quote is about children doing maths). Does this originate from The Smiths, or did a young Moz crib it from somewhere else ?

LOL, who would have thought such an unlikely thing would have come from "The Economist"? Maybe a young Moz supporter?
