rare item??Smiths fans please help!

I have a cassette I first acquired in about 1984-5 that says 'Smiths Rough Trade Demos' on it. It's a C60 and it's a bit tatty, but plays fine. Upon listening to it again the versions of all the early songs are very different to the official 'first' Smiths album, and different again to the Troy Tate album versions too.

The songs are sung slightly differently, with words added here and there. The intro to Miserable Lie is very long and differs from the album version/Troy Tate.

Is this a rare item or is it something well known amongst fans? Please let me know.

Would be nice for it to be given the light of day, u seem to be knowledgable about the early Smiths sessions and this does sound to be quite a rarity. If you wish for it to be converted to .mp3 for the Solo community, please give me an email. This has certainly brightened up my day
