Is Morrissey really singing „in body and soul, part and in HOLE“, rather than „in whole“?? And if so, what does it mean?

Y'know, it amuses me how individuals who decide to post such crude and witless remarks as the one above, do so under a never-before-seen pseudonym. m.y.m., what name do you use when you decide to type a "serious" post? Gimme a break.

hmmm... i think the whole changing of alma mater to alma matters is part of it, but i can't excactly pin his intentions... it could be a play w/ words, but then again it could something really profound...
i dunno.. anyone?
love aaron.

I love the melody and most of the lyrics to Alma Matters, but I confess I've always thought the play on words is TERRIBLE. And putting a B-Side on called Heir Apparent? Hmph.
Cheers,

i remember i read some part that alma matters is a latin expression that means "affectionate mother". moz himself said that that the song showed "his feminine side", or something like that, what confirms the hypothesis.
this way, i consider the "hole" as darkness, difficulties... so he is a affectionate mother even in the dark or in the difficulties.

Do you think that he is singing a polite thank you to his mother for being such a rock of support and help to him? I mean, she has always there for him.
hazard
