i just read the update on the front page of this site.

Morrissey - #5 at Ticketmaster.com

From Michael D. Fellows:

Ticketmaster has Morrissey as #5 in ticket sales :)

wow :)

1. Korn

2. Britney Spears

3. Crosby Stills Nash And Young

4. Beck

5. Morrissey

6. Cher

7. Fiona Apple

8. Counting Crows

9. Allman Brothers

10. Powerman 5000

I think it shows that he is still important to what
is going on in the music world.

What I am going to do is forward this information
to any radio station in my area that should be playing
morrissey and isn't or simply isn't playing him enough.

If enough people mail the radio stations maybe he can
get a little more air play. We aren't going to turn him
into a #1 act but I think we should at least try to
spread the word.

That's very admirable you, nosejob. I, however, am still smarting from the whole TRL / VH-1: BTM fiasco.

Best of luck to you, though!

I don't get how Morrissey sold more tickets than Cher. Cher played places like the Anaheim Pond or Staples Center, which, if you are at these places, is the equivalent to being 5 miles away from the performer. Morrissey couldn't even sell out the Rainbow joint in Fresno or HOB in Vegas. Maybe Cher only played a couple of shows or something, I don't know--I wasn't following Cher's tour like I was Morrissey's. And does this include all ticket sales period, or only ticket sales through ticket master?
Well, it just seems strange, I guess. Good though.

Anyway, about emailing the Radio stations, forget that. I hate the radio. They can play whatever they want. I won't listen to it, even if Moz comes on ten times a day. To put up with that endless chatter of nonsense, those stupid Korn/Limp Biscuit/Everclear songs, and annoying commercials is torture. Just pop in a tape. Hang the D.J.!

P.S. Everyone going to the Moz convention in April should wear shirts that say "hang the D.J.! Kroq Sucks!" Okay?

Don't waste your time emailing them. They'll never play Morrissey. And this list won't mean very much to those who make playlists. Instead, just take pride in knowing that we're an underground fanbase.
